Enterprise Tele-Critical Care (ETCC) in the Military Health System

Enterprise Tele-Critical Care (ETCC) is a new capability that will allow remote monitoring and extension of Intensivist expertise to locations that have limited critical care resources. In this model, remote staff will use video-teleconferencing technology, real-time bedside monitoring data, clinical data, and online clinical decision support tools to provide tele-consultative support to on-site patients and staff. ETCC will promote the readiness of health care providers, enhance health care access for beneficiaries, and improve the quality and safety of available health care services. ETCC will also significantly improve support for patient transfer to military treatment facilities for combat care, contain costs, and improve efficiency by cross-leveling capabilities across MTFs, reducing travel time to care, and delivering health care to the point of need.
