Shaping the Future of Healthcare: A Collaborative Care Journey Where Technology and Humanity Coexist
Information
With a focus on the intersection of healthcare information and technology, organizations globally are realizing the power and promise that digital health transformation offers. By driving meaningful change through improved patient outcomes, enhanced operational efficiency, and focusing on a culture of continuous innovation, healthcare organizations can contribute to the health and well-being of patients globally.
At the HIMSS25 Opening Keynote, Dr. Seung-woo Park, President of Samsung Medical Center, will explore the critical role of digital health transformation in enhancing patient care, with a particular emphasis on the integration of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and the development of next-generation systems, like DARWIN (Data Analytics and Research Window for Integrated kNowledge). These technologies are milestones of Samsung Medical Center’s journey as the world’s first HIMSS Analytics quadruple-validated stage 7 status organization and the first to receive to receive a perfect HIMSS Digital Health Indicator score.
Dr. Park will also highlight the importance of balancing technological innovation with the human aspects of healthcare. As artificial intelligence (AI) continues to evolve, he will explore the strategies needed to implement this new technology and how people, process and technology should be aligned. While AI can augment the capabilities of healthcare professionals, it cannot replace the compassion and wisdom that are integral to the healing process: The Healthcare Intelligence.
Hal Wolf, President and CEO of HIMSS, will continue the conversation in a fireside chat with both Dr. Park and Dr. Meong Hi Son, Chief Medical Information Officer of Samsung Medical Center, as they share insights and aspirations for the future of healthcare. Dr. Son will discuss how hospitals can not only adapt to but also lead in the integration of new technologies, citing examples from her experience with social robots and the iterative journey of digital transformation, ultimately transforming the way healthcare is delivered.
