Valley Health System opened its smart hospital on April 14, 2024, inspired by a vision to provide “Care Like No Other.” The new Valley Hospital is equipped with some of the industry’s most advanced technology with the aim of redesigning care delivery. Valley’s holistic approach to this digital transformation project centered on four key pillars—clinical excellence, superior patient experience and engagement, modern building design and construction techniques, and advanced technology—all with the goal of improving operational efficiency for patients, families, clinicians and staff. During this session, Valley’s technology and clinical leaders will share critical insights from their multiyear design and implementation process. Presenters will discuss project techniques, key design processes, stakeholder collaboration, critical governance, measurement methodology and outcomes. Attendees will gain practical advice, real-world examples, and specific recommendations to apply to the evaluation, planning and design of a smart hospital project or digital transformation initiative.
