Information

AI is transforming healthcare in areas such as diagnosis, care delivery, and operations. These advances are poised to save lives, improve efficiency, and enhance overall healthcare value. Despite all these benefits, we need to also remain vigilant against the potential harms of AI innovation. Governments at the local, state, and federal levels are passing policies designed to mitigate such risks. During the 2025 legislative session alone, there have been over 250 bills introduced related to AI in healthcare, with 27 of these passed into law. A subset of them hold applicability to the mental health domain. This poster outlines the current policy landscape of AI usage in mental health care and examines the pros and cons of such regulations.
