Federal Electronic Health Record (EHR) Application Improvement and Performance Excellence

The Federal EHR is comprised of many integrated applications and digital workflows that allow care to be delivered, documented, shared, and stored for future research. Recent efforts led by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and supported by the Federal Electronic Health Record Modernization office have centered on specific VA user experience perspectives and workflow pain points as well as distinct challenges within their respective credentialed software positions. This session will describe the deliberate, structured interview-based model that assessed functional concerns and, most importantly, share the direct action taken to address each concern.
