Digital Transformation and the Quintuple Aim: Lessons from Taiwan

 This session examines Far Eastern Memorial Hospital's (FEMH) strategic approach to digital transformation, demonstrating measurable outcomes across the Quintuple Aim. As one of the few Asia-Pacific institutions achieving both HIMSS EMRAM Stage 7 and Digital Health Indicator (DHI) validation, FEMH exemplifies systematic digital health advancement. Led by Superintendent Dr. Kuan-Ming Chiu, FEMH has built a smart healthcare ecosystem through four pillars: vision alignment, governance, capability building, and continuous improvement. Attendees will explore AI-driven clinical decision support—including sepsis prediction and deterioration detection—embedded in workflows and electronic whiteboards, plus a mobile-first patient engagement strategy via LINE Mini App serving over 500,000 users. Presenters will share practical strategies for measuring Quintuple Aim impact, balancing innovation with sustainability, and navigating implementation challenges in pursuit of value-based, human-centered care.
