Information
Many are aware of the 21st Century Cures Act electronic healthcare records (EHR) application programming interfaces (APIs), which provide a U.S. Core Data for Interoperability Payload for digital apps to consume and use. Fewer folks are aware that Cures Act rule-making also involves a Bulk FHIR® API, providing this same data set for a population of patients. With Bulk FHIR®, providers and payers can finally have a standards-based way of getting rich clinical data to analyze performance for a population of patients. Strategies to implement Bulk FHIR® and its possibilities will be discussed.
