Overview:
The Society of Nurse Scientists, Innovators, Entrepreneurs, and Leaders (SONSIEL) and Drexel University Close School of Entrepreneurship are proud to present an immersive session at the HIMSS Global Conference highlighting its Healthcare Innovation and Intra/Entrepreneurship Certificate Program. Designed for healthcare professionals, innovators, and leaders, this session will showcase how nurses and other clinicians can harness entrepreneurial and intrapreneurial skills to transform care delivery and health outcomes.

Session 1. Value Proposition (10:30 - 11:15)
Participants will gain a clear understanding of how structured innovation training empowers clinicians to move from ideas to sustainable solutions. Through the certificate program, learners acquire a toolkit to identify opportunities, build impactful solutions, and navigate organizational or market ecosystems to bring innovations forward.

Session 2. Fundamentals of Intra/Entrepreneurship (11:15 - 12:15)
The session will explore the principles of intrapreneurship—driving change within healthcare systems—and entrepreneurship—building ventures that respond to unmet needs. Case studies will demonstrate how frontline insights can be converted into scalable innovations that address workforce challenges, improve patient care, and strengthen system resilience.

Session 3. Funding for Impact (12:15 - 12:50)
Participants will learn strategies for securing resources to bring their ideas to life, from internal innovation funding mechanisms to external sources such as grants, partnerships, and venture support. Practical guidance will help innovators articulate value, measure impact, and align with stakeholders to increase adoption and sustainability.

Closing (12:50-1)

Outcomes
Attendees will leave with actionable insights into how the certificate program equips clinicians to lead innovation efforts, navigate barriers, and access funding pathways that turn vision into measurable impact. This session is a call to empower the global healthcare workforce as catalysts of change.
