From Silos to Standards: The Journey of Integrating MHS Data into a Common Data Model

Health care data within the Military Health System is derived from a variety of sources, including MHS GENESIS, legacy systems, Operational Medicine data, and purchased care, creating challenges such as data silos and inconsistent formats. To overcome these obstacles, the Enterprise Intelligence and Data Solutions program management office leads the integration and mapping of MHS data into a Common Data Model to promote consistency, interoperability, and accessibility across systems. This session will outline the journey of standardizing MHS data, showcasing key accomplishments to date, lessons learned, and plans for the future.
